Spring Decor Ideas...

So it's been forever since I posted.  I finally feel like a real person again.  I'm coming out of the pregnant haze that I go through in the first half of my pregnancies.  I'm so happy to say I'm having another girl.  My mind is spinning with all the ideas of things I want to make this little baby girl.  So hopefully soon I will start accomplishing projects again. :)
  Here's a couple of Spring/Easter decor ideas:

I love this poster board topiary tutorial from Exchange.  Yes you heard it right those are made from poster board.  I need to make some cute ones for the babies room.

This is such a fun and cute Spring wreath idea and tutorial from Loving Every Second.

These are perfect for Spring decor and at Two Twenty One she share how to make them in a simple tutorial.

And I thought these Nest Cookies were so cute for Easter Treats.  At Life is a Party she shares the recipe :).

At My Name Is Snickerdoodle she shares a tutorial on how to make this tissue paper flower wreath.  So fun to know how to make this because you can make it fit any season by changing the color of the tissue paper.

Heart Shaped Burnt Satin Rose Tutorial...

So I have never seen anyone make heart shaped burnt satin roses, but I'm sure they're out there somewhere.
I folded some satin in half and cut three sizes of hearts for each clip.

Then it's easiest if you use a candle and slowly get the edges close to the flame without making it turn black but enough to make it curl up.
Then dab some hot glue in between each petal.

Then I covered some clippies with ribbon and I put felt in between to help the clippies from slipping out of my girls hair.
I loved how they turned out and they are perfect for Valentine's Day.  I made some more to attach to my girl'sValentine skirts and shirts.(Soon to come)
Perfect for little piggies :).

I love this Valentine's Day centerpiece and over at Ordy and Joon she shows you how to place a glass cup inside the vase so that you keep the candy  seperate from the flowers.
I've been loving these cupcake liner wreaths that I've seen all over the web and at Tatertots and Jello she has a tutorial on how to make them.  She also has linked below her tutorial a ton of other peoples wreaths that tried it out.  Very fun and cheap!
Over at The Adventures of the Christensen's she shares this fun and creative "I Love You" Betty Crocker Chex mix recipe.

Christmas Wreath Idea...

I made this wreath by using garland I wasn't using.  I wound it around twice and tied it in some places to keep it's shape.

Ok, so Walmart has super fun sparkly sprigs and ornaments in a rainbow of colors.  It took me forever to decide which ones to use.

For the sprigs I chose red, white, and green and wrapped them into little bunches and hot glued them into the wreath here and there.  But first I took my dollar store ribbon and looped it in and out around the wreath using hot glue.

Then I contined with the sprigs.

I loved this sparkly blue sign that they had in 6 different colors.

Then I took my dollar store ornament and hot glued them here and there around the wreath.  Then I took white ribbon and tied it to the bottom of the wreath and attached the ornaments to it.

Some of you might notice that I painted my hideous security door blue.  It was an aweful off white and so I sprayed it brown and then dry brushed blue on top.  I was so sick of putting cute wreaths and decor on top of such an ugly door.

I found the most perfect garland that matched my wreath for around the door at Home Goods.

Using old picture frames and free christmas printables...

First of all you need to go over to Craftily Ever After to see all the cute free printables that are available.  She has really cute Christmas ones right now.  I grabbed two old black picture frames that were hiding in the corner of my garage and wanted to use them to make cute Christmas displays.  So I used two of the  free Christmas printables from Craftily Ever After and taped them to the middle of some Christmas paper that I had.  Then I just taped them both on top of the old picture I already had.  I still like the mats.
Then I hot glued ribbon around the edges and added buttons to one of them.  So EASY.
And whala!
