My kitchen window treatments...

I feel like singing a Hallelujah Song because I finally finished my kitchen window treatments.  They were a little bit a work and if feels so good to complete something you started.  Anyways I found most of this fabric at Fabric.com. I seriously love that place because any order over $35 is free shipping and once you get the fabric and if you aren't satisfied, then they'll let you return it on them.  And they have such a huge selection, not to mention great prices.  I found this turquoise lace and when I saw it online it had a cream background so I thought that is how it came.  Once I opened up the box I realized it was just lace and I was going to have to attach a background to it if that's what I wanted it to look like.  And of course I did, so I  just bought some cream liner and below I had to sew it to the lace.  That was not very fun pinning and sewing it together but the result was worth it, right?

Then I took this polka dot fabric and made  14 inch strips and hemmed the sides back.  For the top I sewed a 1 and a 1/2 inch opening to insert a rod.
You can see above that my lace is longer than the polka dot fabric.  This is because I wanted the lace to have a gathered look.  So I gathered the lace and pinned and sewed it to the polka dot fabric like below.
This is my bay window in my kitchen.  Because of the angles I just used three pieces of these cheap metal rod things (ha, I don't know what they're called).
By making three separate pieces I was able to work with the angles.

After putting up all three pieces I went along with a needle and thread and cinched up parts of the lace.

Then I made a ruffle below by gathering this long 2 inch strip by changing the dials on my machine.
Then I hot glued some red fringe, the ruffle, and some leopard fabric roses.

A little while ago I made these side panels to help hide the ugliness of my sliding glass doors.  I edged the side and bottom with the leopard fabric.  They are just dummy panels, meaning they don't open and close and are just attached by a rod that is stationary.
